The Historic Village Incubator hosted two exhibition openings on the same day. The first was the Mount Art Group who have many of their works displayed in The Peoples Gallery. Writer and photographer Lee Switzer attended both events.

                                             Gemma Brunt started a new painting of a favourite subject.

Gemma also collects drift wood and assembles parts, often imbedding reinforcement wire or tubes to make and then paint creatures of interest.

A wide range of paintings on many subjects – and at very reasonable prices. One of the organisers said ‘We do this for enjoyment, if someone else likes our work, so much the better.’

Throughout the day food was provided and music by Derrin Richards.

The second opening brought a crowd to The Incubator Gallery. It has exhibition space and work places where many artist have their own room for projects. Artist Lynette Fisher introduced new artist Ulemj Glamuzina. This is her first solo exhibition. It is titled Through My Eyes.

Ulemj Glamuzina thanked Lynette for being such a great mentor and inspiration. She also thanked her own family. Ulemji is originally from Mongolia. Traveling the world, she has learned several languages.    

Ulemj sees the cultures of other peoples and tries to capture the essence of the individual. Her media includes watercolour, ink, pastel, watercolour pencils, and oils. Sometimes Ulemj uses a mix of media to achieve vibrancy in the painting.
