Tauranga Historical Society’s Jazz in the Garden 2015

ARTbop contributor and local historian Shirley Arabin wants us all to get along to this year’s Tauranga Historical Society Jazz in the Garden.

It’s that time of year again. Only a month to Jazz in the Garden, the annual musical event held at the Brain Watkins Historic House. Sunday 1 March from 2.p.m. the grounds will be open for an afternoon of music from “The Silvertones” a local Tauranga band.

A gold coin donation gets you through the gate and an enjoyable afternoon. If you have not already been through the house, then $4 will give you a house tour. There are stalls with home- made cakes and provisions, as well as plants for your garden. The book stall has a fresh selection of second hand books as amazingly low prices. Afternoon teas are a bargain.

This event is the major fundraiser for the Tauranga Historical Society each year. Please be generous and contribute to the ongoing maintenance and preservation of the Brain Watkins House. Enquiries about membership 5744965
